John McDonnell is the Managing Director International of Fifth Generation, Inc., Home of Tito's Handmade Vodka.
McDonnell has launched and marketed many successful global spirits brands, and is highly regarded as an industry leader. He earned widespread respect as Chairman of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), the national trade association representing America’s leading distillers.
In January 2005, John joined Patrón as Chief Operating Officer. There he led international and duty-free expansion into over 130 countries and islands worldwide, helping Patrón become the world’s #1 tequila brand in retail value. Patrón also became the world’s ninth most popular brand. During his tenure, Patrón’s revenue rose from $75 million to $600 million.
Today as Managing Director, International for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, John leads the brand’s spectacular global expansion from only a few international locations to 150 countries thus far. Among its charitable involvements, the company supports Emancipet, helping to control American’s pet population and liberating them from euthanasia.
John was recently honored to be appointed Chairman of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority by Governor Baker. Among his many other civic roles, he serves on the Board of Trustees for Boston’s Suffolk University.
