Boston Hosts ABX 2019 Building, Design Show

The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) was established in 1867, thus making it one of the oldest and largest chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The BSA currently consists of nearly 4,500 members and produces content for numerous programs and publications, including the ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX) and ArchitectureBoston magazine.
The group’s ABX 2019 conference takes place this week at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts, from November 6-7, 2019. The expo is the largest building and design trade show and conference in the Northeast and is expected to attract approximately 8,000 architects, builders, contractors, and design professionals, as well as more than 300 exhibiting companies.
Educational Workshops
ABX workshops and conference tracks are designed to prepare industry professionals to meet challenging demands. Topics include subjects such as housing, preservation, equity, environmental mitigation, and urban planning.
From deep dives into current codes and regulations to explorations of new technologies designed to advance the halt of building-related carbon emissions, the show is design to offer high levels of education, training, and insight.
Coatings contractors may enjoy the four-part series entitled “Building Enclosures 101: Controlling Heat, Air, Moisture,” which begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continues throughout the day in various 90-minute intervals in the Wagdy Anis Symposium.
On Thursday, relevant presentations could include “The Next Generation of Sustainable Construction,” from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.; “Building Enclosure Performance for Resilience,” from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.; “Exposing Exposed Concrete: Design, Construct, Maintain,” from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.; and “Better Projects Through Data: The Future of Construction,” from 5:00 p.m. through 6:30 p.m.
