Join WCVB’s Karen Holmes Ward and Danae Bucci at this year’s Massachusetts Conference for Women! Karen will help kick off the action packed day as emcee of the Opening Keynote session (10:15-11:45AM). Danae will take the stage to moderate the “That's a Good Question: How to Soar in STEM Executive Insight” panel (8:45AM-9:45AM). The annual event features a variety of inspirational workshops and panels featuring innovators and experts and encourages collaboration among attendees. WCVB is proud to be a longtime media partner.

ESPA announces newest superstars leading event services industry

The Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) has announced the recipients of its awards highlighting outstanding leadership in the event services sector, as well as association leadership and engagement.

The honours were presented during the association’s 2024 Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis, USA.

The list of 2024 ESPA award winners includes:

Executive Excellence Award – Diane DiAntonio, CMP, CEM, the general manager at Massachusetts Convention Center Authority.

Gloria Larson named interim executive director of Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) has announced that the MCCA Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve Gloria Cordes Larson to serve as its interim executive director.

Larson, a respected business leader, lawyer, public policy expert, and former president of Bentley University, will fulfill the duties and responsibilities of managing all MCCA operations and leadership until a permanent executive director is named. She will start at the MCCA in January.

Larson returns to the MCCA after serving as chair of the Board for 12 years, during which time she oversaw the construction and opening of the $850m Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC).
