1 million COVID-19 vaccines administered at CIC Health vaccination sites
CIC Health announced on Monday that it surpassed 1 million COVID-19 vaccines administered at its mass and community pop-up vaccination sites that operate throughout the state.
CIC Health sites include Gillette Stadium, the Hynes Convention Center, the Reggie Lewis Center, Fenway Park, and multiple community pop-up sites.
“As we approach our one-year anniversary, I am incredibly proud of the Herculean efforts by CIC Health and our trusted partners to safely and effectively vaccinate residents of the Commonwealth,” said Tim Rowe, CIC Health co-founder, and CEO. “We are humbled to have played a role in getting 1 million shots in arms. The vaccine represents long-awaited hope for so many members of our community, and we are thrilled that Massachusetts, and the rest of the nation, is well on the road to recovery.”
To honor its milestone, CIC Health says it plans to distribute t-shirts and lapel pins to those who worked on or at its vaccination sites.
“One million shots at CIC Health’s vaccination sites is an incredible milestone, but we recognize there is a portion of the population that has not yet been vaccinated,” said Dr. Atul Gawande, executive chair of CIC Health. “We have turned an important corner and reached an astonishing milestone, but our mission remains the same: we must ensure our friends and neighbors have equitable access to the vaccine, so we as a nation can return to work, school, and play. Today, we take a moment to proudly put on our t-shirts and pins, but then we get right back to the work of vaccinating.”
CIC Health told Boston 25 walk-ins are still welcomed at all of its vaccination sites, and appointments can be booked on its website. Free Lyft rides to and from its vaccination sites are also still available to all.
