Boston - The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) today announced it has distributed $115,000 in Community Partnership Grants to 23 Boston-based nonprofits during its annual awards luncheon at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC).

The grants are awarded through the MCCA’s Community Partnership Program, which directs a portion of consumer show revenues from the MCEC to support Boston-based nonprofit organizations.

“At the heart of the MCCA’s mission is a responsibility to give back to the communities we serve,” said Marcel Vernon, Sr., Chief Executive Officer of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. “The recipients of these grants inspire us with their commitment to making Boston a stronger and more resilient city, and we are proud to support their critical work. I would also like to acknowledge the MCCA team members who served on the committee for their commitment to ensuring these funds made the greatest impact possible.”

Nonprofits were awarded $5,000 grants each and since the program launched in 2007, over $2 million has been distributed to directly support nonprofits operating in neighborhoods across Boston.
